Get To Know Your Doctor

Why did you decide to be a doctor?

Being a physician, particularly a dermatologist, is like being a detective – solving riddles and mysteries.  In dermatology we have the privilege of caring for all ages and we are one of the few types of medicine that are required to understand the ailments from the actual patient all the way back to the pathology and basic science of the issue

What is your favorite part about being a doctor?

What I get to learn from our patients . Either directly about medicine, but often just about their lives and adventures.

What motivates you to work hard?

My feelings are that a physician works for their patients, not the other way around.  That desire to succeed for your patients is my motivation.

What was your first job?

Besides a newspaper route, working as a delivery boy and clerk at Ron Park Drug.

What is your favorite type of food?

Pizza, specifically thin crust cheese or pepperoni.

What are your hobbies?

Honestly almost none beside spending time with my wife and children and our church.  In my younger years it was motorcycles, cars and electronics. Actually, I still like electronics and cars.

How would your friends describe you?

Lots of personality, dynamic, and an adventure.   A little bit sarcastic.  A home body.

What is your biggest fear?

Sharks in lakes – I know, what do you do?

What is your favorite movie?

A Good Year – with Russell Crowe.

Who are your favorite musicians?

Prince and George Strait.

Where’s one place in the world that you’d like to visit?
