Smooth, Glowing Skin

Contractions of the underlying facial muscles of expression cause furrows and deep wrinkles. When you smile, laugh, or frown, you deepen these lines. Although you may feel you have earned every one of them with life’s dealings, BOTOX® treatments can prevent you from having to show them anymore.

What Is BOTOX®?

BOTOX® is a popular cosmetic treatment where a purified form of botulinum toxin is injected into specific muscles to temporarily paralyze them. By blocking the signals from the nerves to the muscles, BOTOX® relaxes the muscles and prevents them from contracting, which in turn reduces the appearance of wrinkles and restores a smooth, glowing radiance to your skin. BOTOX® is most commonly used on the forehead, around the eyes, and between the eyebrows, but it can also be used to temporarily improve other areas of the face and neck.

Non-Surgical Cosmetic Enhancement

BOTOX® can temporarily treat a variety of wrinkles and fine lines on the face, such as crow's feet, frown lines, forehead lines, and other fine lines and wrinkles caused by repetitive facial movements for up to six months.

It can also lift the eyebrows and give the face a more youthful appearance. By injecting BOTOX® into the muscles that control the eyebrows, the eyebrows can be lifted, and the eyes can appear more open and alert.

The BOTOX® Advantages

  • Non-invasive treatment that does not require any surgery or incisions
  • Quick treatment that can be completed in just a few minutes
  • Relatively painless, only requiring a few small injections
  • Safe – approved by the FDA for cosmetic use
  • Effectively reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines for up to six months

BOTOX® Treatment: What to Expect

Consultation

Before undergoing a BOTOX® treatment, you will meet with one of our medical providers to discuss your goals and expectations. Your medical history and current health status are also evaluated during this consultation.

Preparation

Once approved for treatment, our Skin Care Doctors’ medical professional will prepare the BOTOX® solution by diluting it with saline. They will also mark the injection sites on your face to ensure accuracy during the procedure.

Injections

Our medical provider will then use a fine needle to inject the BOTOX® solution into the targeted muscles in your face. The number of required injections will depend on your individual needs and goals.

Recovery

After the injections are complete, patients can typically resume regular daily activities immediately. However, you may be advised to avoid strenuous exercise and certain medications for a short period to minimize the risk of complications.

BOTOX® Injection Aftercare

After receiving BOTOX® injections, patients must adhere to some basic aftercare guidelines following the procedure to ensure the best possible results. These guidelines include the following:

  • Refrain from touching or rubbing the area for at least 24 hours
  • Do not lie down or bend over for at least four hours after your procedure
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol consumption, and extreme heat – such as hot tubs or saunas – for at least 24 hours

It is important to note that it can take up to two weeks for the full effects of BOTOX® to be visible. Our medical providers recommend avoiding additional treatments or procedures in the treated area during this time.
