Innovative Skin Repair

During this treatment, the microneedling device creates thousands of controlled micro-injuries to initiate the skin's natural wound repair process. This response includes the production of collagen and elastin, two essential proteins that help keep skin firm and elastic. The procedure helps improve your skin's appearance and increases skincare product absorption, allowing for better penetration and efficacy.

What Is Microneedling?

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure involving tiny needles to create controlled microchannels that trigger the body's natural healing response. The process can be performed on various parts of the body – including the face, neck, décolletage, and hands. The microneedling device can vary in size and shape, depending on the area being treated and the severity of the skin condition. The needles can be as short as 0.25mm or as long as 3mm.

Microneedling Treatment: What to Expect

The treatment area will be cleansed to ensure that there is no oil or debris on the skin. We will provide you with a topical anesthetic to keep you comfortable during the treatment. Once your skin is numb, the topical will be removed, and the microneedling will begin. The microneedling device will be passed over the skin, making very small micro-punctures.

Some pinpoint bleeding is anticipated during treatment; however, it is so subtle that it will subside before you leave the appointment. Once the treatment is completed, our staff will apply ice packs to the treatment areas to ease any discomfort while also going through aftercare instructions. For facial treatments, a cooling mask will be applied at the end of your treatment.

The total treatment time is around 60 minutes, including preparation, treatment, and aftercare. Afterward, the skin may be red and slightly swollen for one to two days after treatment, and patients can resume their regular activities immediately. Patients are advised to avoid sun exposure and to use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer in the days following the procedure.

Microneedling with PRP

Platelet-rich plasma is found within your very own blood. It contains dozens of growth factors, which have healing and regeneration properties. When used in conjunction with microneedling, PRP delivers an added boost of collagen production and rejuvenation. First, blood will be taken from your arm. It will then be spun to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the red blood cells and other impurities. Once this has been done, the platelet-rich plasma is applied to the areas treated by the microneedling device to stimulate new collagen production and re-energize your cells. Platelet-rich plasma allows the body to take advantage of normal healing pathways at a highly accelerated rate.
