Before starting a KYBELLA® treatment, you will come into our Skin Care Doctors’ office so we can assess your facial structure and medical history to determine if you are a candidate for the procedure. Our Skin Care Doctors medical provider will then mark the treatment area, typically under the chin, with a grid to ensure precise injections. The treatment usually takes around 15 to 20 minutes to complete.

During your treatment, a series of injections will administer KYBELLA® into the targeted area. The number of required injections will depend on the amount of fat to be removed to achieve your desired results. You may need multiple treatments spaced about four to six weeks apart to allow for proper healing and ensure that the previous treatment has had time to take effect. Pain and discomfort during the treatment are usually minimal.

KYBELLA® Recovery & Results

After KYBELLA® treatment, patients may experience mild swelling, bruising, or numbness in the treated area. These side effects are expected and typically subside within a few days to a week. You must avoid strenuous activity and exposure to direct sunlight for at least 24 hours.

Results from KYBELLA® treatment are typically seen after two to four sessions, depending on the individual's needs. The process works by destroying fat cells in the targeted area to be removed by the body's natural process. Results may vary from person to person.
